This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Thank you for the on "another world away" back in May, I really appreciate it, sorry that it took me so long to thank you for that, real life got the best of me for a bit.
Well, I've spent a relatievely large amount of time over the past week or so (sans my recent trip to Baltimore) using Deviantart. A few patterns I've noticed:
The most effective way to find art I enjoy is to browse the deviations and favorites of the creator of other works I enjoy.
Many of the deviations I have to wade through are trite and unesoteric. My annoyances include: Deviations that consist of nothing but text (with the exception of ASCII/ANSI art), deviations that profess love or hate (and generally include the words somehow in the art itself), deviations with watermarks professing copyright. Deviations whose preview thumbnails state, "click to see full view." All of these things are guarantees that I will skip the work with extreme prejudice.
I wish Deviant art had a feature where I could say, "Never ever show me anything done by artists on this list." There are too many works by artists who might be good in ten years when they turn eighteen, but for now, are just embarrasing themselves.

The only shooting I do is with my camera,
The only hunting I do is for the right image.

Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways.

Am I being too harsh, or is all this fair?
